Keble College is one of the largest of the constituent colleges of the University of Oxford. Eckersley O’Callaghan were appointed as glass consultants for the structural glass elements of Keble College’s new residential building. The main element was the entrance canopy. Glass beams cantilever to support a four by four metre laminated glass canopy. In order to support the loads generated, highly engineered bearings in the beams are integrated within the concealed gutter.

Eckersley O’Callaghan have recently been appointed as Structural Engineers on the Acland Hospital redevelopment for Keble College. This new £25million building will create residential and teaching accommodation around a water course through a sunken quadrangle, a reworking of the traditional Oxford College typology.
